• Link preview settings. Customizer > Status Updates gains two settings that work whether or not the section’s overrides are enabled. Render link previews turns the preview cards for links in status updates on or off, on the stream and on the post page, and is on by default. Render description decides where a card shows the page title and description: As link preview overlay lays them over the bottom of the image, the default; Below link preview puts them under it; Don’t render description leaves the card with the image alone.
• Domain under the card. The bordered preview box holds the image with its title and description. Under it, on the plain card background, the linked site’s domain follows in a small muted line with an external link icon, so readers see where a card leads before they click. The whole card opens the site in a new tab as an external link, its text is no longer underlined on post pages, and the cards sit directly under the post’s text without extra space above them.
