• Comment counts on cards. Stream cards now end their tags and reactions row with a comment pill: a small speech bubble and the number of comments, styled like the reaction pills and linking straight to the comments. It shows a zero while comments are open and disappears once they are closed on a post that has none. A Display comment count checkbox under All Posts and under each post type section in the Customizer switches it off, enabled by default.
• Add-reaction icon. The add-reaction button that logged-in readers use to react to a post had a bare plus sign. It now shows a line-drawn smiley in front of the plus, in the same size, spacing, and colour as the comment pill’s bubble, so the two buttons at the end of a card read as a pair.
