• Post type pills. The Release and Latest badges that update releases carried are now a theme feature for every post type. A small pill naming the type, Blog Post, Status Update, Image, Video, or a plugin’s own label, sits in the header’s right column below the date, level with the author handle, on stream cards and on single posts. Plugins can add pills of their own through the loveshack_stream_item_pills filter, which is how the Update API adds its Latest badge. A Display post type pill checkbox under All Posts and under each post type section in the Customizer switches the row on or off, and while it is on the inline type label in single headers steps aside. Update API v1.1.14 or later renders its release pills in the same place.
• Sharper item header. The author name leads the header a little larger and in bold, with more line height, so the handle beneath it and the date on the right sit clear of the line above. The profile handle takes the same muted colour as the pills, so the name stands out and the handle recedes. The two sides of the header line up: name with date, handle with pills.
• Hide the current year. Below the timestamp pattern field, under All Posts and each post type, a new Hide the current year checkbox leaves the year out of dates that fall in the current year: Sep 7 instead of Sep 7, 2026. It applies to every format that writes a date, including the date the relative formats fall back to, while earlier years keep their year and relative wording such as 3 days ago is unaffected.
• Optional image zoom. Image cards no longer enlarge their picture on hover by default. A Zoom images on hover checkbox in the Image Posts section turns it back on. Unlike the section’s other controls it stays visible whether or not the section’s overrides are enabled. Blog posts and video thumbnails keep their hover zoom as before.
• Newsletter cards match the stream. Digest emails used to reduce every post to a stripped 34-word excerpt. Each card is now built the way its stream card is: the teaser comes from the same helper and respects the post type’s free teaser length, Markdown comes through as formatted text with email-safe styling, and the post type pill sits under the date when it is on for that type. The plain-text version of the email keeps its short text-only excerpt.
